When it comes to charging mobile devices, wireless charging pads are great to have around; they’re convenient and extremely easy to use. Although you still need to use a charging cable with them, your device doesn’t have to be restricted by the cable. They look great on any desk, table or even a nightstand. Today we’ll take a look at the Choetech T518, an efficient fast-charging wireless charger.
The Choetech T518 is a simple, yet impressive, wireless charger that works with all Qi-enabled devices. However, it also works with a Qi wireless charging receiver (for non-Qi-enabled devices), which is what I had to use with my device. If you have a case on your phone, it’s best to take it off to get the maximum amount of charge; a case thicker than 5mm will slow down the charging speed and can even lead to overheating.
The wireless charger features a fast charge feature (10W output max), but it is only compatible with the Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6/S6 Edge devices. With the fast charging mode, these devices will get fully charged in two hours. It also has a built-in smart lightning sensor that automatically dims the LED indicator according to the darkness in the room.
What’s in the Box
The Choetech T518 comes with the charging pad, a micro-USB charging cable, and a user manual.
Some models come with a QC 2.0 AC adapter; however, the model tested for this review does not. It’s recommended to use a 5V/1.5A or above AC adapter to power the wireless charger.
Charging Your Device
To use the charging pad, you must place your entire device on the charger (centered). The LED indicator, which is around the base of charging pad, will either turn green or blue. The green indicator is used for fast wireless charging, while the blue indicator is used for standard wireless charging (5W output max).
Here are some LED light signals you’ll want to know:
- LED indicator shows quick flashes: power connected
- LED indicator turns solid green or blue: charging mode (means it’s working)
- LED indicator turns off: charging complete or on standby
The wireless charger will continue charging your device until it reaches 100%; it will then turn off automatically. You don’t have to worry about your device being overcharged. If you do leave it on, it will even resume charging once consumption is detected, helping to keep your battery topped off.

Final Thoughts
When it comes to performance, the Choetech doesn’t disappoint. I have a basic Android device that charges pretty quickly with a micro-USB cable (around 1.5 hours). I found that this wireless charger performs just as well, even with me having to use a wireless charging receiver.
The charging pad is lightweight, compact and extremely portable. The rubberized bottom also keeps it on one spot – no slipping around. Whether you have a Qi-enabled device or not, it’s an efficient and affordable accessory.
